Their innocence spurs me on I will fight for them on my own ... on my own

Here I stand helplessly again

The efforts that I put in irrigating my farms and building my house went in vain

I see my farms submerged and demolished

Where has my crops vanished

They call it development induced displacement

they don't care for our sentiment

Our fight is on

whether its dusk or dawn

Another day of deaths another day of survival

Is it a fault in this country to be a tribal

My home will be demolished one fine day

and obeying their orders will be the only way

I am tired of fighting for something which belongs to me

The only thing I have in mind is to break free

Their enlightening smile keep me going

Maybe thats I reason I am still sowing

I will continue to do so

In-spite of my remorse and sorrow

Their innocence spurs me on

I will fight for them on my own

I am strong enough to voice my opinion against all discrimination

Its my informed decision and not a desperation

No one has the right to deprive my children of their right

No one can restrain me from this fight

This fight is not about land and entitlements

it is about justice and commitment

Its time to remove autocracy

Its time to counter their hypocrisy

Its time to ensure democracy

Their innocence spurs me on

I will fight for them on my own ... on my own

  2. Development induced displacement remains to be dilemma in my mind. For me the word displacement and development dont go hand in hand. I was there for only a month and I was traumatized to see the fight the community had to deal with. The example that comes to my mind is of uprooting a tree. You cannot uproot a tree and plant it some where else. The tree will not survive. And with this approach the only thing which will happen is that we will develop but the very beneficiary for whom the development is supposed to be done wont no longer be there on the planet. The only thing I can say is

" Development is definitely not elopement of destruction :"

  3. Abhijit, you have expressed it so well that i can actually see a picture in front of my eyes to what is happening.
Today people are displaced for development and what kind of development? The one where the rich get richer and the powerful get more power..!! In order to make them hear our voices..we will fight.
The fight will go on..and i hope it does. And trust me if one puts in the best efforts, one fine day..the government will have to kneel down and work with the people.
